South Park Mormon: Conclusion

All in all, South Park got some things right and a lot of things wrong. But would anyone expect anything different? After all, South Park is a show that is designed to entertain, not necessarily disseminate truth – nothing more, nothing less.

mormon-churchWith that in mind, it is hoped that any reasonable person would take the South Park Mormon episode with a huge grain of salt. Some of the major issues (right and wrong) have been addressed on this website, but there are a lot of other details about the episode that could have been discussed, but were not. Just because some things were not discussed on this site concerning the episode, it does not signify that South Park got it right.

Now that you have spent 20 minutes watching the South Park episode and at least several minutes perusing the pages of this site learning what they got right and wrong, why not spend some time watching a couple of videos that tell the story from a Mormon perspective. First, watch a video of a modern day Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ as he testifies of the Divine authenticity of The Book of Mormon which was translated by the first prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joseph Smith. Latter-day Saints testify that The Book of Mormon is the keystone of their religion. They further testify that The Book of Mormon does not attempt to detract from the teachings, doctrines, and principles found within the writ of the Holy Bible, but rather it enhances what the Bible teaches, and furthermore, both The Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible testify that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of the True and the Living God. Thus, The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Second, watch a full-length video by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that depicts the true life accounts of Joseph Smith, a 14-year-old farm boy from upstate New York whom Latter-day Saints testify was indeed a prophet of God, chosen as an instrument in His hands, to bring forth the fullness of the everlasting gospel in these the latter days – in this, the last dispensation.

Though you may not laugh as much as you did during the South Park version, you may find something much more important by watching these videos — the truth.
